Changelog & Update History
We believe you should know how fresh a tool and its documentation are. This is our running record of what shipped and when it was last reviewed.
Why we date everything
Stale instructions are worse than no instructions. Software changes, buttons move, formats evolve. Every feature and guide on FilesForge carries a publish date and a last-reviewed date so you can judge for yourself whether what you're reading still applies. Below is the high-level history.
- Added JSON ↔ XML conversion to the Convert tab.
- Published the full Security & Privacy guide (10 topics).
- Reworked Rearrange Pages with multi-select and always-visible delete controls.
- Added structured data (JSON-LD) and per-page meta tags across the site.
- Fixed MP4→MP3 and MP4→3GP audio/video conversions.
- Fixed XLSX→PDF and added XLSX→CSV export.
- Improved 7Z and RAR archive handling on all platforms.
- Hardened JPG/PNG→SVG conversion so a failed trace never interrupts service.
- PDF ↔ Word, Excel, PowerPoint, image and archive conversion.
- Edit PDF: annotate, fill forms, rotate, unlock, protect, rearrange.
- Watermark, compress, split and merge tools.
- Automatic file deletion within 20 minutes of every conversion.
How updates work
When we change how a tool behaves, three things happen: the change ships, the matching guide is re-reviewed and re-dated, and — if the change is significant — it's noted here. Minor copy fixes aren't logged individually, but any change that affects how you use a tool is.
